Library Resources in PA

In Pennsylvania, most of the libraries are connected through Access PA, so if you have a library card from one PA library, you can easily obtain a card from any other Access PA library. That can allow you to have access to many electronic and print resources available throughout the state. POWER Library also provides access to various electronic databases with holdings from journals, newspapers, magazines, and much more. The long number on the back of your library card gets you in. You can also request and borrow books from all over the state using the Inter Library Loan system.

Each year the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association (PSLA) sponsors the PYRCA. This awards program allows PA school aged children (including homeschoolers!) to vote for their favorite books among a selection of nominated titles in 3 different age-groups. Voting is usually in March. Winners are announced in May.
